I'm gonna make some curtains

I'm gonna do it. Don't really have all the details figured out yet tbh but I'll figure it out.

I already have the fabric. To be perfectly transparent, it's been sitting on my desk for a few months now. By the time I complete the curtains, I'm sure it'll be time I move again. (No clue if 3 yards is enough, I went off of a guess to force myself to make these without dithering and yet I dithered).

The fabric in question (isn't it really cute??) And it was 20% off!
Even so, I'd like to try it anyways. I'm sure I can hang them up at most conventional, stock-width windows. I mean, they're windows. How hard could it be? (foreshadowing?) Maybe I can make them extra wide just in case and just tuck the side wrinkles up. Idk. I don't even know if curtains work that way. I'm not a curtain scientist.

I saw this... not sure, I guess a reel? Or some kind of reddit post, somewhere, about making curtains on the lower half of the windows so you still get the natural light and don't have to adjust the blinds for privacy, which immediately sounded amazing because my apartment building kind of wraps around in a U shape and our windows point directly at someone else's windows across the pool. Especially once the sun sets, it feels like thirty apartments can see straight into my bedroom if I leave the blinds open and I don't want them reading the fanfic I'm reading.

One time our next door neighbor even excitedly told us about how she saw someone in an apartment across the pool walking around naked. It was our first time meeting her btw. And it was in a 2 minute elevator ride. And her child was with her. If I slip up would she be spilling all my secrets to strangers in a 2 minute elevator ride?

Now I know how this might make me sound: curtains in that area seem a bit anti-social. Kind of... blocking out all the people, all the activity, making it so I can't really open my windows up. But in my defense, my windows really stay shut tight for the most part. With my current setup, I'll open the blinds on Fridays sometimes and that's it. But hey, I can just make the curtains part in the middle for in case I (or my cats) want to peek out.

This is one of many scenarios that will no longer happen once I install my curtains

I think it's a bit hard for me to start on this project because I have no idea how to manipulate the fabric for this. Like, do I have to ruffle up the fabric when I sew it? And if I mess it up, what if the fabric is no longer available? Or what if I finish all that work and they look bad?

But I guess someone older and wiser than me would tell me something like... "they're just curtains". Or maybe: "That's life, kid." Idk I felt like my post needed some paragraph at the end tying it all together into a bigger meaning but in the end, it's just curtains.

I'm doing better. My team launched the app. I took some time off. Been feeling like blogging again. Thanks, everyone. ❤️🐀
